Japanese car runs on water with no other input. As far as it seems so far.

Nothing is so simple as it seems:

The reality is more mundane: It is actually possible to make a car look like it runs on water without breaking the first law of thermodynamics. The way it's usually done is with metal hydrides. These react with water to produce hydrogen, which is then used to power the car. But since these hydrides will deplete with time, they need to be replaced and so they are actually the fuel, not the water. And you can be sure that more energy will go into producing them than will be taken out, making them an energy carrier, just like a battery.

water car and hydrides

When I first saw this posted in yahoo group, my reply was that it seemed to be like a membrane technology but the technology diagram breakdown shows something else.

I would recommend anyone read his book World Hydrogen View. Rodger Billings was behind most of the hydride technology and invented the first car that ran on a fuel cell. I have some of his video presentations that were given to me about 8 years ago and he was the original master to help develop the hydride technology. But his applications mostly to store hydrgeon in dry hydride form in tanks that slowly release the hydrogen when warmed into a fuel cell...safest fuel storage in the world. Armor piercing bullet shot through these tanks caused no explosion.

The person quoted says "the way it is usually done" is with hydrides. It may be but I can't see it in English yet. The best I can make out on the Japanese site is that it is a series cell with applied high voltage that seems to come from a battery bank. They admit there is some minor deterioration of the plate maybe it seems. Some of the plates could be some hydride technology...don't know yet.

cell stack - water energy system

YouTube - JAPANESE WATER CAR FUEL CELL INTERNALS

The sign in front of that setup says CELL STACK...and under that: WATER ENERGY SYSTEM.

I couldn't get the vid to play...12 seconds...but I could make that out.
