Smack output Tubing Size

Slowly, I am assembling my Smack.(I have 2 young boys who would rather doing something else). Is the 1/4" output tube large enough? I thought I remember Redmeanie saying to use something larger if possible?

I would use as close to 1/2" you can get on a smacks. 3/8" will work too but 1/2" shouldn't restrict flow at all.
