MIT alzheimers treatment

also being discussed here

MIT alzheimer breakthru treatment ...amazing possibilities !!

Below originally contributed By JimBoot here
HELP PLEASE! 40hz light to restore gamma waves to the brain to fight Alzheimers
MIT announced this week a method for reducing beta amyloid production in the brain by restoring the brain's gamma waves which stimulated microglia to do its job in "cleaning" the brain.

Unique visual stimulation may be new treatment for Alzheimer?s | MIT News

@ Note
this is a very passive and noninvasive treatment and apparently Quite easy to produce/build the desired Stimuli apparatus .
Jim and others are investigating this "build" for Family members with this affliction .
**also to note the results to date from MIT have not been with Human subjects.

build progress will be posted here ,as well as other relevant information.

all comments welcome and appreciated

it would seem that a wonderful opportunity to investigate this claim in real time is within our grasp.

If you have an Android smartphone Mindroid is the app you want to try this Alzheimer cure concept. It's programmable to exactly 40 Hz and has lots of options. It divides the screen in half so when you lay the phone horizontally over your face you have two large round circles that flash over your eyes. You can pinch them to move them closer together or further apart to align to your eyes. You can also use the virtual goggles like Google cardboard or the better ones selling for $5 to $15 now (ones at Walmart are good plastic ones with soft foam and fit most smartphones). I believe this will do everything you want to experiment with this Alzheimer cure concept - all without having to build anything. You can get Mindroid off Google play or some alternate sites on the Internet

In order to edit the frequency of a session in Mindroid you need to create a new session or download a session off their web site from within the app. The built in sessions can't be edited so if you want straight 40 Hz just create a 'New' session.

Mindroid has so many options it is really almost like having one of the Theta technologies $349 Mind's Eye devices. I've got both and it works the same magic. I've had some really incredible experiences with the Mind's Eye and also with this Android app. You can choose the color of the flashing lights, choose binaural or regular, audio-visual or visual only (or audio only), duration and you can directly edit the frequency just by pulling a line on the frequency graph with your finger. You can even use external LED glasses with it if you want. But you don't really need those and I'd suggest just getting the virtual 3D goggles like everyone is selling now at Walmart, eBay, china sites like dhgate.com, aliexpress.com etc.
There is no important work, there are only a series of moments to demonstrate your mastery and impeccability. Quote from Almine

Very interesting article, certainly this is a worthwhile subject to research.

I have heard that application of certain ultrasonic techniques to the head can also help break up the beta amyloid plaques.

But one still needs something to supress the beta amyloid production in the first place and then remove plaque. So this visual light stimulation concept to help produce gamma oscillations could be quite a revelation.

Since this seems to be a more modern disease, what is it in our environment that supresses or impairs gamma oscillations? - Since 40hz light seems to stimulate gamma oscillations (GO) and according to the article 20hz to 80hz did not reduce the GO, only the 40hz.

Since our lights flicker at 50 or 60Hz, could this be part of the GO impairment or suppression in our modern environment?

I would suggest that Alzheimer’s starts earlier than one thinks, not just an old-age disease with early onset becoming more & more common.

many Thanks for all contributions

would seem having an EEG watching the results of this therapy in real time is well within grasp of the average person.

From member Tak22

•Installed Muse Monitor from: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eMonitor&hl=en and played around with it. Seems to do exactly as advertised. I can use this for quick visual of Gamma wave changes.
•Installed latest Muse SDKs for Windows and Android.
•Researched ways to increase gamma waves and found another possibility: Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT)
•MSIT paper: Evidence for a motor gamma-band network governing response interference
•Installed Inquisit Lab from: Millisecond - Makers of Inquisit for running MSIT scripts.
•Next todo: Run a MSIT script and watch/record Muse Monitor to see if my gamma wave levels change.

Amazing opportunity here !!

MIT alzheimers treatment Revisited

A recent article in volume 555, March 1, 2018 Nature magazine brought this to my attention. A better version of the study and observing the equipment is posted on you tube by Kane Alson Sept 9, 2017 Light therapy for for Alzheimer's disease photobiomodulation therapy.
Some considerations:

1.It has only been tested on mice.

2.It may only be applicable to the visual cortex.

3.What is the pulse shape of the flicker sinusoidal or square wave or some recent development by MIT. A good visual of the pulsing device is on the video. It looks more complicated than a a typical function generator. Maybe some Bedini type circuit for Rife etc? I there enough information from the visual to copy it? I have not downloaded the latest article in Nature and maybe get some more information.

4. What is the frequency/spectrum of the light output of the LED's. Specific manufacturer?

5. As questioned on the Over Unity post would a Strobe light work. I have a 1500 watt Strobex Model 140 A driving a Model 77 Bulb. It will operate at 40hz. Could filter out frequencies not desired and reduce output to match room.

6. Why 40hz. Another reference is Joachim Keppler, "A Novel Approach to the Scientific Understanding and Exploration of Consciousness PP", and other references to gamma band. Basically Stochastic Electrodynamics SED/ZPE.

This does seem like a worthwhile project. Nature magazine seems to be pushing this project and the assertions in the videos is a search for funding.

I am partial to the analogue, vacuum tube era of Bearden and have garage full of equipment in my endeavor to build an original Rife machine or Biophoton detecting during meditation per the reports of Dean Radin, G Schwartz, Persinger group, and many others.
But shifting gears to focus on this technology possibly assisted with other recent technology.

MIT alzheimers treatment Revisited

On further observation the circuit in the video was just an off the shelf Arduino
but I suspect there may be more to the Apparatus.

In keeping with the analogue theme I have a couple vintage Grass Polygraph machines and parts. Looks like one includes EEG modules. A good winter project.

Early morning and evening Sun bath, Shungite water(Fullerene and the Origin of life, Geoffrey Goodman), and Mooji meditation might do the trick, save all the iterations?

In the absence of a brain scan how does one track Consciousness, or awareness. A good introduction to IQ tests was described in a recent Book on
