TinMan's true energy amplification device

TinMan is working on a bigger sealed vessel power gain project where this is playing a part.
here he shares an interesting experiment .
TinMan
quote
Is the venturi really an energy amplifying device?
Here in this test, the air flow is regulated at 5psi,and flow restricted by the 1.6mm jet. The extra force produced to spin the generator faster to produce more power is coming only from the environment

Hi Chet, Wouldn't opening the valve reduce the pressure the blades are seeing, since the tip 1.6mm is restricting the airflow and opening the valve would be a path of least resistance?
Maybe the design of the blade is better suited to less pressure?
Just asking.
Thanks artv

Art
Is it pulling in Cold air [pressure drop] ?? or letting air out ? its running at 5 PSI [I think]
perhaps the Blade is in a "stall" condition and designed for a specific flow ..which appears when the venturi is opened??

interesting take Art.

the fan drives a linear load...and yet the power out doubles with a metering valve in place ??
It twists my mind for sure .perhaps the fan has some design specific attribute

thanks for looking and commenting.

Very interesting demo - well done Tinman I wonder if it is the air mass being increased (air sucked in and added to main air stream) that is responsible for the gain?

Cop 1.33

Here is another Vid From Brad ,as stated this is part of another developing system
where he is harvesting energy from the environment and has a COP of 1.33

So by adding that T piece added ~3lpm more thrust?
Can you keep adding more in line to keep increasing the pressure?
Great experiment I like his videos
Thanks Tinnman and Chet for posting.

Good to see some tinkering but there is no free energy. The venturi effect slows the speed of the air out of the orifice by the vacuum it creates. Opening the valve removes this vacuum and the flow speeds up. Try exactly the same jet but out of the venturi , the fan will speed up. Thats why carbs were more restrictive than fuel injection.

So to understand your point, the 1.6mm orifice TinMan uses to restrict the flow
develops a vacuum/restriction to flow on the inlet side which is removed when the second venturi valve is opened
thus the increase in speed ?

seems he could place a few gauges to measure this,
thanks for your input.

A Problem with that.....

Pomodoro
I was reminded that there are flow gauges in the circuit already....

wouldn't your analysis of this experiment be reflected in the flow gauges ??

It does NOT seem to be the case ??

@All ,thanks for looking and commenting.

Thanks for the video with the flow meters. Yes, this video is more convincing. More accurate flow measurements are required as I am not sure if those flow meters are accurate under pressure, perhaps some tiny hot wire anemometer in the pressurised pipe. If he can keep the the hot wire at the same current for venturi on and off, then he has improved the efficiency for sure! Someone has to also determine the theoretical maximum efficiency for such a system and see if this system overcomes that. Its a good , simple experiment, well done.

Working away from Home

Laurent
The TinMan left on a work trip yesterday, he'll be gone a few days.
Thanks for looking in and commenting.
