Rivers can be generators?
Hi guys,
We just tested our very first prototype for a new wheel. No technical data yet but the design seems to work perfectly as turbine, water wheel or wind turbine. We are developing the next models adapted to specific situation and welcome your enlightenment. Thanks y'all Herve Samory wheel: three in one - YouTube |

Your Samory wheel design is a glorified version of a standard overshot water wheel as shown in your video clip, it is nothing new. Your wheel will rotate because you are aiming the jets of water and wind directly and conveniently at the top bucket of the wheel. Both wind and water currents flow through the whole of the medium and at different angles thereby affecting the bottom of your wheel as well as the top. Also the high speed you claim is possible with this toy because there is no load connected to it, its free to rotate at any speed it likes. Attach a load or generator and see how much torque it actually produces.
Water wheels are nothing new, they have been used industrially for hundreds of years and over that time just about every type, shape and design has been explored with the main designs being overshot, pitchback and breastshot. Then is this really a "new design" as you claim. If you want to know more about water wheels this site has information about waterwheel designs |
