he discovery of the hilltop fortress and furnace came about, it seemed, by casual chance. My wife publishes a little community newspaper distributed in the counties bordering the Red River around Lake Texoma, called TGIF The Weekend Bandit. It is a general interest paper focusing mainly on local events and history. I write a weekly column on history and sometimes feature articles. Since I grew up near Rockwall, Texas, it was of great interest to me to discover that in January 2000 excavation of the mysterious buried wall there had finally been undertaken. I had been obsessed by that wall since childhood.

The question as to whether or not we have received visitors from space can probably only be answered with certainty if and when we find indisputable evidence for such a visit here on Earth. Such a proof could consist of the discovery of artifacts whose exact age can be determined, and whose external and internal structure can be regarded as "time-anomalous". In recent years numerous micro-objects have been found in the Urals, which appear to fulfill these requirements. This is the first published report of the discovery.

One of the strangest mysteries in archaeology was discovered in the Diquis Delta of Costa Rica. Since the 1930s, hundreds of stone balls have been documented, ranging in size from a few centimetres to over two meters in diameter. Some weigh 16 tons. Almost all of them are made of granodiorite, a hard, igneous stone. These objects are monolithic sculptures made by human hands.

There have been numerous theories and speculations as to its origin, ranging from a pictograph made by prehistoric man, an indian carving, the impression of the skin pattern of a giant lizard, or evidence of a visit to earth by an early travelers from outer space.

The Phaistos Disc was discovered in the basement of room XL-101 of the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos, near Hagia Triada, on the south coast of Crete. Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier recovered this remarkably intact "dish", about 15 cm in diameter and uniformly just over 1 cm thick, on July 3, 1908.

In November of 1860, David Wyrick of Newark, Ohio found an inscribed stone in a burial mound about 10 miles south of Newark. The stone is inscribed on all sides with a condensed version of the Ten Commandments or Decalogue, in a peculiar form of post-Exilic square Hebrew letters. The robed and bearded figure on the front is identified as Moses in letters fanning over his head.

Over the past several decades, South Afrikaans miners have found hundreds of metallic spheres, (found in a Precambrian deposit, said to be 2.8 billion years old) is at least one of which has three parallel grooves running around its equator. The spheres are of two types - "one of solid bluish metal with white flecks, and another which is hollow and filled with a white spongy center". Roelf Marx, curator of the museum of Klerksdorp, South Africa, where some of the spheres are housed, said:" the spheres are a complete mystery. They look man-made, yet at the time in Earth's history when they came to rest in this rock, no intelligent life (supposedly) existed; they're nothing like I have ever seen before".

This fossil which corresponds perfectly to a human handprint shows astounding detail. Even the print of the thumb nail can be seen. It is found in the Glen Rose limestone which is designated as Middle Cretaceous, supposedly 110 million years old and contemporary with the dinosaurs!

A stunning new discovery with the potential to overthrow all of modern evolutionary thought was recently found in old collections of fossils from Axel Heiberg Island in the Canadian Arctic, far above the arctic circle. It appears to be a "fossil finger", not unlike ones previously recorded from Creataceous age strata in Texas by Dr. Carl Baugh of the Creataceous Evidences Museum .The new fossil dates from about 100 to 110 million years ago, also from the geologic time evolutionists call the "Creataceous Period". The specimen is known by the rather innocuous designation "DM93-083". The side view shows dark areas that are interpreted as the interior parts of the bones and bone marrow. These areas have less density than the surrounding stones, and therefore more easily pass X-rays, causing darkening of the image.

The oldest fossil footprint yet found was discovered in June 1968 by William J. Meister on an expedition to Antelope Spring, 43 miles west of Delta, Utah. He was accompanied by his wife and two daughters, and by Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shape and their two daughters. The party had already discovered several fossils of trilobites when Meister split open a two-inch-thick slab of rock with his hammer and discovered the print. The rock fell open "like a book." revealing on one side the footprint of a human with trilobites right in the footprint itself. The other half of the rock slab showed an almost perfect mold of the footprint and fossils. Amazingly the human was wearing a sandal! The sandal that seems to have crushed a living trilobite (300 to 600 million years ago) was 10 1/4 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide; the heel is indented slightly more than the sole, as a human shoe print would be !

Baalbek, Lebanon, is the scene of another of the funny anomalies involving gravity in the ancient world. At the temple of Jupiter at Baalbek, and also in a nearby quary, are found carved stone blocks which are simply too heavy to be moved by any modern technology and, hence also one would assume, by any ancient technology. The only assumption which works, as noted also in the case of the large dinosaurs, is that gravity was simply not the problem then which it is now.

The Bat Creek Stone was professionally excavated in 1889 from an undisturbed burial mound in Eastern Tennessee by the Smithsonian's Mound Survey project. The director of the project, Cyrus Thomas, initially declared that the curious inscription on the stone were "beyond question letters of the Cherokee alphabet." (Thomas 1894: 391:4)
