When you take any two digit number and add the two digits together and then subtract that total from the original two digit number, you will always get a multiple of the number 9.

This illusion is set up so that all multiples of 9 have the same symbol. When you refresh or do the puzzle again, the symbol may change, but if you look, all numbers that are a multiple of 9 will have the same symbol.

Fun, huh?

Bingo! Which is why I said what I said above. TOO many smartiepants on here!
One of the first things I noticed before I figured it out was that the shapes on the page were repeating all over the page, then, that they shifted after each refresh, as you noticed as well.

Now, if the game asked to pick any number and hit the button - then we'd have something really cooooool

I love trying to figure out these types of puzzles. The thing to remember is that almost always, something is being manipulated. The hard part is figuring out what.

I have been know to spend hours or even days working on a puzzle until I figured out how it was done. Pretty sad isn't it
