  • Philippine earthquake

I never felt it as I was in the car at the time, everyone is talking about it. We are getting tsunami reports from all around the island of Cebu with flooding in low lying areas. I am 1km from the coast and 56m above sea level and there is no sign of anything here other than very heavy traffic coming out of the city.

If anyone need info about Cebu city let me know

After the Japanese and New Zealand earth quakes it makes sense that there will be at least one other big earthquake around the pacific plate to relieve pressure on a third side. This is not big enough to do that so expect another in the coming months but I cannot tell you where it will happen. It may be a series of smaller earthquakes along the edge of the plate but I have no idea what side of the pacific it will happen or when.

This is not based on any scientific information, just common sense, no end of the world scenario here.

Just had another quake, the time is about 6.08pm local time. The sideways displacement seemed to be about 2 inces at first then reducing. The quake lasted about 30 seconds. I did not feel the first one but I did feel this.

Most of the reports of flooding seem to be exaggerated.

mbrownn Your post didn't pass unnoticed. I'm monitoring all activities across the globe for the past couple of years. There is an increase and "unrest"
including areas which have been dormant for a long time. Beside quite common (if I can say that) such as Alaska, Ring of Fire area, California, there are few events very recently in the areas which were relatively quiet. During the last week (as well as now) I see 4+ quakes in France, Japan (too close to Daichi) Honsiu, Riuku Island, 4 - 6.8 in Syberia, Fiji area rattled with 5's for the past few days, Quebec Canada, Poland, west south of Africa and more. There is also volcanic activity in Japan. It seems that current Solar activity may contribute to such disturbance and perhaps there is more going on than we "suppose to know".

Update; Just noticed 5.1 in central Iran...
          Thanks

I still stand by my prediction of another big earthquake around the ring of fire.

Interesting rock formations in the area of the Iran earthquake, is that an impact crater?
