Question about Thyroid function
This is my question.
I seem to exhibit many of the symptoms associated with low thyroid function. The last time I had blood work, maybe 2-3 years ago, my thyroid results were normal. I know you are not doctors, but if one were to subscribe to this module and does not have low thyroid function, are there any adverse affects or would it just not work at all? Also, do you think this could be used as a tool in weight loss along with the other modules? Thank you for all the great and new products you continue to bring to us! Answers: It appears you are not sure that you know if your thyroid function is low, your last blood test was 2-3 years ago. HOWEVER, if your thyroid function is in the normal range you should NOT use the Thyroid Module without letting us know that you are in normal range. NOTE: Thyroid test results of "normal" are measured in a "range", so one could be "normal" but on the low end, just above hypo. The Improved Thyroid Function Module is specifically designed for persons with hypothyroidism. If you feel you are borderline (still in normal range, but on the low end) or if you just want to maintain healthy thyroid function, you can use the Improved Thyroid Function Module IF YOU EMAIL US AND LET US KNOW YOU ARE IN THE NORMAL RANGE. We will make a few adjustments to the module for you, so that it is optimum for you. Regarding weight loss ~ If you are below normal range (hypo) or on the low end of the normal range, then this Module may be of assistance in losing weight. |

Most doctors only test TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone), but that then affects T4 and T3. "Some doctors may go a step further and look at your free T4 -- but not the free T3. To further complicate matters, the actual test procedures most labs use to test total T4 and T3 are essentially antiquated; there is new technology that can test the free hormone levels much more accurately. In addition, without also testing the free T3, the doctor has no way of knowing if your body is properly converting the T4 it makes into T3. Just because the TSH level is normal doesn't mean it is present in your system in sufficient amounts, and just because your free T4 level is good doesn't mean your body is converting it like it should. "If you are exhibiting signs of low thyroid, your free T3 will be low despite your TSH being 'normal'," says Dr. Gordon. "The TSH only shows what is going on in your hypothalmus, not in your liver or elsewhere in your body." There's a few more helpful links on that page but it looks like the PATHS module is doing the trick With Love and Gratitude Alan |

Thanks, Firehorse
I know my grown daughter has always had a problem. She is now 37 years old. When she was as young as 8 we would ask her Doctor to check her thyroid. Always came back within normal ranges. But, she always has been swollen around her neck where her thyroid is located and a tendency to be overweight. Looks exactly like a goiter. She also was diagnosed as having exceedingly high cholesterol. The first time this happened was when she was 13. We were told she had the cholesterol levels of an old man! We were not junk food eater. My kids never even ate a tv dinner until they were teenager and staying at a friends house,(I might add they didn't like them much either ).In the latter years the only way she can lose weight is to virtually starve herself. She is about 60 pounds over the healthy range. Her cholesterol is in the 300's ( Enough to kill a Horse). They put her on medication, that was suppose to help bring it down. The side effect of the medication is liver damage It also made her violent ill. She tried it for about 6 months, her cholesterol dropped about 5 points. She could stay on it because she was so ill that she could hardly get out of bed! I have always know the real reason behind all this is her thyroid. My Mother had a problem all through her life with thyroid and so did my husband when he was young. All I can say is GRRRRRRRRRRR to the medical community!! I hope there are no Docs her that i have offended. Aloha Keoi |

Latest update re thyroid module
When I last posted regarding this on June 14, my body temperature had gradually risen to 97.5 degrees over a six week period. As of yesterday, my body temperature is now 98.0 degrees!!!
I don't ever remember my temperature at this level unless I was sick. |
