Hello from Colorado

Hey everyone, just wanted to formally say hi to all.

The situation,
I deliver a newspaper to 3 towns here in CO, I travel 95-120 miles a night, 7 nights a week. Due to location, road quality, and job requirements no car will survive my route and 4wd/awd is a must. As such my choices for upgrading my vehicle is slim, and will only result in maybe an average of 2-3 mpg improvement, IE not cost effective.

About 2 months ago i started looking into ways to increase my jeep(04 v6 4wd liberty)'s mpg, as well as lengthen its life(got a 2 micron oil bypass filter kit i'm waiting to put in after i get a baseline to compare to).

Right now my mileage over the coarse of 2 nights(time between fill ups) is averaging mid 16 to low 17 mpg over the coarse of my route. Considering the terrine, roads, the 25 or so 45 sec stops to fill racks/stores, its not that bad. I also split my rout one day to find that i got 12.5 mpg in the "city" portion of my route and 19 on the (very hilly) highway.

Anyway after enough research to make my eyes bleed and a few preliminary experiments that didn't exactly end too well but proved to me that HHO boosters might be my salvation in attaining better mpg. I'm not sure what style booster I will end up making, first comes finding a local supply of steal plates but i have a few ideas.

So if all gos well I'm looking for lest overall gain of 2-5 mpg, and if i get a hold of a digital camera i'll likly be sharing photos of construction once i get under way.

Welcome The Loitering Kid!

Welcome TLK!

Make sure to check out Redmeanie's EFIE circuit...can save you gas...and should be used with a water gas booster or fuel additive that really works.

There are a lot of things cracking right now so you're just in time!

I'm thinking once i get everything together I'll do testing as follows,

no Booster, no Efie (just to reassess base mileage)

Booster, no Efie

Booster, Efie

likely for preventative maintenance i will go ahead just replace the o2 sensors for good measure ( got my jeep with 46,111 miles last year, and its got off the top of my head ~8200 on it atm), and i think its currently running richer then stoic as is.

only problem is my bypass oil filter will be taking up the only place under my jeeps hood that i can mount a booster so i'ma just mount it in front of the grill (and surely be stopped a few times by the cops wondering just what it is)
