I just wanted to stop by on the "newbies" area, say "hi" and give a little info...
I built my first "
not a perpetual motion machine, but was called one by all the 'adult real engineers'" when I was 14... That was pushing 40 years ago. (Wow, where did the time go?) I designed it, built it and demonstrated it worked. My Grandfather was very excited and took the design and demo unit to some engineers he knew at a local company. They "poo-pooed" it and said that it was BS.
Even though there was a demo prototype sitting on the table in front of them working! My Grandfather was very dejected over it and I learned very quickly at a young age not to go against the "conventional" wisdom and theories, lest one get stomped on. I lived my life and only worked in this area as my own private hobby. My Mom called me one day about 7-8 years later, rather upset, because she had just read a newspaper article that said that some engineers (
those engineers) at this company had just gotten a big award... for 'inventing' and patenting what was my design.
I went back to school and got my advanced degrees in engineering. I work with some pretty high caliber PhDs and scientists now, but I've still found that the general attitude towards these concepts go between laughingly sceptic to out-right negative hostility (usually coupled with some sort of veiled threatening comment that I don't want to get labeled as one of
those nuts).
I have studied the work of Tesla for a long time and find the fact that he was painted as an eccentric nut for some of his claims to be infuriating. Regardless, the concepts of the "Tesla switch" are things that I've been "tinkering" with for awhile. Finding the Bedini/Bearden papers has been interesting, especially since it has helped confirm many of the things I've done over the years. I dreamed-up, worked on, designed and built something along the lines of the SSG concept over 30 years ago. So, these comprise one area that I am working/interested in.
The second thing that I've worked on is the HHO concept. I've been "tinkering" with alternate drive / alternate fuel vehicles for awhile... also as a 'hobby', just for fun. It started with running diesel engines on veggie oil decades ago and has progressed from one thing to another over the years. So, that is another area that I am working/interested in.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and that these forums look exciting. Oh, and "In The Field" has a number of meanings.
