  • Solar hydrogen / energie / water plant

    Found this thing on youtube.

It is presented as a solution for development countries, but after looking at it.. Anyone with Sun and (dirty) water would be almost independent !!

    The procedure:

    - Sun powers a water purifier, a hydrogen/ oxygen splitter
    - Excessive energy gets stored as hydrogen

They claim enough energy to simultaneously:

    - Pump up the water
    - Purify the water
    - Store Hydrogen
    - Store Oxygen

and while doing all the above also able to deliver even more excessive energy to power electrical stuff

On top of that, you can hook up a cooking stove on the spot.

    Wow!

Well .. water, hydrogen, stored energy, cooking... now we need some cold:

    Coleman Stirling Power Coolerfreezer

Funny thing is.. this is a very energy low efficient Stirling Cooler.

But they seems to be off the market, even not on ebay anymore. Everywhere out of stock, or discontinued.
They use max 42W 12V to produce -18 celsius in minutes!

Ideal for solar use, One good panel, a battery and you have a all year fridge. (I was even thinking you can build this engine in you existing fridge)

    Some guy measured his:

    As far as numbers go here is what I came up with. The Coleman has 5 settings versus the Engel which I believe is variable. The power consumption of the Coleman is .66 Amps for the lowest setting to 4 Amps on the freezer. The temps for the 5 settings are;
    1. Cool one- 50F degrees 8 watts/.66 Amps
    2. Cool two- 43F degrees 16 watts/1.33 Amps
    3. Cool three- 37F degrees 27 watts/2.25 Amps
    4. Freeze one- 19F degrees 42 watts/3.5 Amps
    5 Freeze two- -.4F degrees 55 watts/4.1 Amps

Only place they still sell them is in the medical portable coolers for much higher prices, as they have been as low as 299 dollar once, they are now sold as high priced medical coolers.

What I'm saying.. Both those products.. It is out there, but somehow the mass will not see it or get the access to it.

      Sometimes I get almost mad...

This tech looked very promising, was independently tested and ready for market ( Expensive ! 95.000 )

But of course it vanished, including the website.

I do not think this was a scam, just to easy for people to get independent.

Imagine this on large scale production, costs way down. And if you do not have Solar, you could use wind or water energy.

While possibly not as glamorous there is always the "now-not-so-spoken-of" Solar hydrogen method of good old Haufmann based separation, as outlined by Walt Pyle. No one wants to publish articles about this stuff anymore in fear that people will blow themselves to smithereens. Mother Earth News is more about apartment window granola grinders, these days.

Meanwhile in the trenches, out in the boondocks, this is how it gets done, I got three friends doing it. The ultimate shunt!

Has anyone seen my Bedini Ceiling Fan that pushes the warm air down, and charges batteries as an added bonus? Me neither. 'Bout time I made one!!!!! :P
