  • I had a huge insight, but what to do with it?

Yesterday - most likely thanks to the effects of my PATHS modules - I had a major, spine-chilling revelation about me and my financial affairs. And like many revelations, it was something that had been right under my nose all these years. It was this: I realised that watching my father get rich when I was a child, and seeing how it sucked the soul out of him, has messed up my ideas about wealth and happiness. It's as if I can't possibly believe that "having money" and "being happy" are mutually compatible. My father's pursuit of money above all else really destroyed our family and turned him into a wreck of a man. Somewhere along the line I must've made the decision never to become like him. Perhaps even to the point of sabotaging my own chances in life? Well, that's the revelation that my subconscious presented to me last night, much to my surprise.

Okay, so now that I have this information, what do I do about it? Has anybody else had any similar experience on PATHS? I would really appreciate hearing about it.

    Yes

    Hi Rin,

I've had revelations about my money attitudes, but not specifically from PATHS. It's important, though, from whichever source it comes.

Mine came almost year ago, after I started Holosync and became interested in NLP... I found an article, which I have linked to elsewhere several times before - explaining Jean Piaget's theories about cognition in children. For one thing, kids are in a trance-like state when it comes to learning, and they tend to take things as gospel. So, my mother's talk (which resulted from her upbringing in the height of the Great Depression - early 1930's) about "people with money who think that they're better than we are", etc. left a huge twist in my attitudes about money.

I have always felt intimidated by people who I perceived to be in a "higher class", people in high-responsibility positions, people in authority, and people with obvious wealth. In my corporate career, I'd reach a certain point in middle management, then sabotage myself. At the time, I was seeing a repeated pattern of always, somehow, ending up reporting to people who I had issues with, sooner or later... in hindsight I can see how I attracted them in order to fulfill my belief in my unworthiness.

Through various means I've come to recognise this - and I believe that understanding is a critical first step. Abe-Hicks exercises, EFT, and now PATHS are all tools I've used successfully to affirm my value and love for myself, and results continue to show in wonderful ways.

Congratulations, Rin - this understanding can serve as a key for you to move into new belief systems, and no doubt your PATHS changes will facilitate even more breakthroughs.

    This is a wonderful thing!

    Love,

A great book to learn to love being rich!

        Hi Rin,

I too grew up in a strict religious environment that quoted over and over again the Biblical idea that the 'love of money is the root of all evil' or somesuch. What malarcky!

Money is not the root of evil, evil being so relative and subjective anyway! lol

The Science of Getting Rich is a super book and is free online here PsiTek - Free Metaphysical Books

Its about 4/5 of the way down the page of other awesome free books.

In SOGR, the opening chapters explain in a beautiful way how riches are part of the complete picture to becoming a WHOLE being and experiencing everything you need to experience in this life! Any leftover guilt at getting rich was cured by that book!

Enjoy and may all wealth (riches and health) be yours! And mine! All of ours! There is plenty to go around for everyone

        Cheers,

        Stephen

Ooh, another chill went down my spine when I read that! It is very similar to my own pattern with bosses; in my case, I resent them, and at the same time I crave their approval. In other words, they are like parents to me!

I am familiar with EFT, but I have never tried tapping for money issues before. Thank you for sharing your insights with me, Joy!

Yes, it breaks my heart when I recall what became of my father over the years, and how his frantic chasing after money really drove the family apart. Somewhere along the line I must've resolved never to become like him (by never accumulating money, presumably!). I'm glad you are having so many new insights, Adrienne! I have been on PATHS for less than two months, but it is amazing the stuff that is coming up.

The SOGR is the book that started Rhonda Byrnes on the path of The Secret.

I like it because it is very straightforward and be read fairly quickly. I made a word document and printed it off for ease of reading.

                AND, its FREEEEEEEEEE!

Another poster on this forum reads it every year, its that good and I think thats a great idea for me too!

                Ciao for now,

                Stephen

                    Hi Rin ~

Isn't it wonderful to have those flashes of insight and suddenly see things clearly?

The path to understanding is taken one step at a time....I am confident that the same processes that prompted your last step

will also help you in future steps regarding what to do with this insight!
