  • Methane, Propane, Natural Gas for cars...

The use of alternate energy such as Methane, Propane and Natural Gas for vehicles is often a neglected area. Some legislation if passed will introduce funding for research and production of these alt energy vehicles...
The daily market trends of oil prices and price at the pump certainly makes these alternatives look attractive. Has anyone done or seen any current information in this area of alternate energy systems

A fellow worker has a truck converted over to propane. He used a propane system from a forklift to convert his pickup. He uses the same tanks and always carries a spare. He said his mileage was about the same as for gasoline, but the cost of refilling the tank was cheaper. Also he can go 10,000 miles between oil changes. And there is no warmup involved, as it is already vaporized with contact to air. If you don't live near a gas supply or RV center, the inconvience is another factor to consider. Good Luck. Stealth

      Yes..
      Info that's true,
Save the lube oil using gaseous fuels.

It takes a while to de-gasolineafy an engine after the switch to gasses.

Tho, after a few oil changes you will notice.. the need for less lube.

Engines HATE gasoline and other liquids AND LOVE propane or butane, gasses.

I don't think it is neglected, but it is more about which need it more. Gas are high demand in industries, and common house have an increasing demand for gas too. This still not a good sign though, because most gas still made from fossil.
