Hi... I guess we're all trying to figure out what's happening here.. The windings look like they're rapped around all the plates.. Where are the forces at
and what moves?? If the gears move then it looks as tho they move over the windings around the plates?? Can you give some explination??

You are onto something. Its creative but a prototype may be easier to comment on. If someone wants to build it

The stator windings would be stationary attached to the motor housing.The plates would be passing through the center of the coils.As the two magnetic plates being 180 degrees apart approach their respective coils those coils will turn on and pull the magnetic plates in much like a solenoid does and then turn off so as to let the outside ring of magnetic plates be able advance on to the next set of coils.The planetary gears would be stationary mounted through bearings to the motor housing.So the only thing that spins is the center Sun gear and the outside plates that would have an interal type gear attached to the plates.One of the problems with the design is that there's really no support for that outer plate ring other than the gears which will want to wear out in short order, I would imagine.Overall,I like the concept of the motor,And it does have some very good points of interest.But It has to many obvious obstacles in my opinion(Hence the thread name).Thx for the reply .

I want to thank you for your gracious words of encourgement .I derived this idea while looking into the workings of a coil gun about a year ago and have been obsessed with this idea for a while now.But unfortunately it is really an extremely hard and expensive and time consuming and yada yada yada Kind of BUILD.Basically I hate to admit it but,This IS way beyond my abilities (There I said it).Now maybe if I can come accross some cheap parts I can get started .Thx all
