  • Coil Construction thread

    Howdy from redneckville.
This thread is for coil builders and designers.
    Everyone is invited to learn.
My question: Does a coil with 8 strands, plus a smaller trigger strand which is used separately, put out more volt/amps than each of the 8 independently rectified strands?
Will I get more from each strand independently rectified or from a very large strand, i.e., the 8 soldered together?

    Overwhelming response!!!

So the arguing is more important than teaching?
Learning to fight is what is being taught.
No one important has answered my question.
I'm retired and tired of you children in your 30's and 40's arguing with your elders.
If you wish to be solitaries then I will oblige.
Only respect will be tolerated from the rest.
Retired from active duty is not out to pasture.

if you have higher frequencies, the multiple strands will work better than a solid wire that is the size of the bundle.
but that only applies to frequencies that are likely well higher than you are using, so I don't think it matters to what you are doing.

          Just me, myself and I.
How are you ? Fine I hope.
I am still teaching but letting experts stand in as the subject reaches their area.
I am painfully doing this and not regretting any moment because eventually it will be learned.
I suggest that each wire rectified and added to the other dc volt bank will yield more actual voltage than all eight together in a larger wire.
SpacecaseZero is welcome to yay or nay my suggestion.
Does anyone else new to this technology wish to post?

individual wires to rectifiers is not likely to change much.
depending on the diodes you use to rectify you might get better or worse efficiency.
if you are really curious, run a test to be sure.

              Yes is my answer.
I will have to run a single coil versus single phase and dual then three phase for the best homemade generator I can manage.
I will need time to get the ducks back in a row.
My wish is to try to fill the entire circle with 12 phases.
Then the uniform patterns of energy can be tested again.
              Maybe it will work.
