  • California wildfires.

I was aboard my sailboat in Eureka CA when the wind that started the first wildfire began to blow late September. An electric space heater exploded during the night. Nine days later the same 20 MPH wind started fires in Northern California that have everyone wondering what took place.

Ion winds are "electrohydrodynamic" winds that generate positive or negative Ions that combine with oxygen molecules. Positive Ions or Cations and negative or Anions can combine to form compounds. Sodium chloride or even phosphorus can form spontaneously within metals. Phosphorus is highly flammable and I believe this was the cause of the electric heater explosion aboard my boat. This happened 50 years ago in Santa Rosa. I believe that building codes can be enforced to eliminate this hazard in the future.
