evaporation as "The energy source of the future" ? could well be when you consider the billions of tons of water always on the move. I caught this very short radio clip on the subject but dont really understand what is being contemplated any idea's folks ?

Thank you Dfourtune that tells me a bit more. so I looked for some exciting video's . and came up with

I dont think it'll push my 4x4 around just yet, still they might get some 'super bugs' on the job .. I wait with baited breath! who knows? not one for me this ..bugs

They are talking about using bacteria as the intermediary between the water vapor and physical movement. I have not a clue about the microbiology behind it but it still needs energy input to cause the evaporation so it would be similar to any other power-from-the-environment plan - that is low energy density which is accumulated, stored, and then expended.

If you think about it, it is evaporation that supplies the kinetic energy of Tesla's Niagara power plant. Well, not really evaporation but the planetary water cycle. Water evaporates, forms clouds, the clouds move onshore, drop their moisture as rain which goes into a river that drives a turbine and continues on to the ocean to evaporate again.

Personally, I think they are blowing smoke if they think they will ever power an auto with it. Where is the evaporation going to come from at night, cloudy days, etc?

It would, in essence, be a very, very low power steam engine.

That's a lot of searching and research you've done thx1138 I thank you kindly I have watched the video's you have provided and like you I start to think some folks are being paid lots of money to generate and then blow smoke.
At the moment I can't see them bugs pushing my motor down the road .
Still It did make me consider evaporation in general and just how much energy is being used in the operation. Like energy, by slight of hand we are starting to believe water is owned by someone and must be paid for.
Of course like energy there isn't a penny weight more or less water than there was a million years ago, after all where can it go ? It might be in a river or sea perhaps in transit through you or a thirsty cow or dog, regardless it will quickly become part of our beautiful planets huge water purification and irrigation system but just how huge is it?
As I read your post I also begin to wonder just how much , direct sunlight, or heat effects evaporation? I have seen ferocious visible evaporation going on in freezing conditions (nothing scientific or measured you understand) still enough to make me consider something else is at play in the evaporation process.
At school I was taught the sun is the source of our energy and the story runs something like so …
The calculations show that the average rainfall for the entire earth is 32 inches per annum. If all that water fell at one time the entire globe would be flooded to a depth of one metre.
This amount of water weighs in at about 480 million million tons and in order for it to fall as rain it must be lifted to an average height of one thousand two hundred meters from every sea, river and ocean.
This massive free irrigation and purification effort that's been running for millions of years then requires the continuous expenditure 220 thousand million horse power continuously throughout the year!
Working then on the figures of evaporation alone every square meter of the earth's surface receives
one and one eighth Kw continuously over a twelve hour period . This is about 48,600 KWHs if we tried paying electricity utility company rates for this 'free energy' that has been at work for years we would very soon be bankrupt.
The 12 hour bit assumes the sun is the only source of this energy however there are other opinions as to how evaporation might be working its huge miracle here's an interesting concept presented by
R.A.Pool as he considers the work of Leeskalnin
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmtzVITUWgk
Right or wrong its undeniable that there is a huge energy system at work and its not understood ..(at least not by we minions). I also doubt the bacteria /bug car thing is going anywhere much
Still there is a deal of energy available if we knew how to tap into it! As R.A Pool tells us evaporation is yet another area t.p.t.b make sure isn't taught however something so important has of course been studied to the Nth degree
