Could I just coat a material in carbon to make it resistant to corrosion during hydrolysis? Say use a soft pencil and just shade over a plate material? Or would the resistance be too high? If I coated some stainless steel switch covers in pencil graphite, would the imperfections in the carbon coat increase the surface area of the plates? Or would it raise the electrical resistance and reduce the cell's performance?
