Cool Hearts

"Hearts" is the newest work I have done. I did her tonight, and she was fun because I had no idea of what I was going to do till I saw her done! As a matter of fact she started out with a red background and quited different! It always amazes me when I look at what I started with and what I end with!

Well here is the finished product...

Thank You My Darlings, for your sweet comments about my work! You all never fail to make me sigh with your lovely words...

Oh, Zartgirl...I am envisioning your faerie-faces to be the inspiration for a Broadway musical! Can you not just see these Delightful Beings of your imagination dancing across the stage and causing wonderous rapture within the audience? Mmmmm... I sure can!!! Keep it up, Honey!

And...My Dear Keoi.... Oh, my Sweet Girl.... Your gift of this video is more precious to me than I can say... Wow there was a lot here for me to catch up on!

What a feast of words and images!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this would be a good place to post about this production that was based on a story by my second cousin (is that right, she is my cousin's daughter?) who is in the second grade.

The theme is just too sweet :

Pamela's Art

Dearest Pamela,

The first time I saw your work, those luscious tulips, I was instantly and absolutely struck with a sensation I have yet been able describe - or to understand. Each time I come across your work -like just now because Grace posted them here - there is again that sudden sensation and again I am at loss for words.

I've wanted to write to you for some time now to convey my awe and great appreciation for your work, to somehow find words sufficient to the experience yet I repeatedly shy away for that same lack.

A friend of mine once helped me understand my own work as an artist by saying, (I paraphrase) "an artist is one who is willing to go into those deep places most people don't know about or are afraid to enter and bring forth from there Truth. Our work then conveys that Truth in a way that catches the viewer unaware and they get a glimpse of it (and recognize it) before the habit of mind quickly *slams* the door again." Maybe that is why I have yet to find the words to express my feelings about your work - because I have yet to find the place in me that fully understands.

Whatever the feeling is - it feels wonderful , it strikes quickly with a *zingy* sudden intake of breath and then just as quickly quiets to lovely holding, nurturing kind of feeling with a bit of a tang, an excitement. What is that?! It’s triumphant and peaceful at the same time.

With much love and appreciation - THANK YOU! -for being who you are and doing what you do. It truly is a blessing.

Bobi

Oh...

Oh, My Dear Bobi...

When I read your Beautiful post about my paintings, I got a lump in my throat... I cannot tell you how wonderful it makes me feel to know that I have been able to elicit such a strong aesthetic response within your Being when you look to my work...

For me, the act of creating art is often a very solitary and sometimes lonely space and there are times when I feel a sense of isolation as I bring forth that which is inside of me, but knowing that my work is so deeply appreciated in such an emotional way as you have so eloquently stated, causes me immense joy and fulfillment! SO MUCH, Darling Bobi... Your words have touched my heart in a way that is difficult for ME to describe.

With Much Love and Gratitude,

Pamela

Cool Pamela

Pamela my darling! You are so awesome at encouraging others! Well you know... I have never been to a Broadway show, but wouldn't that be just awesome to see my faeries on that kind of stage! What fun that would be! The only stage shows I have seen is the San Francisco Ballet, and the Nutcracker also in ballet... Hmmmm.... I would love to go to NY and see a Broadway show very much! Ooooh Oooooh! especiallly in the winter and then go skating in the park! Hehehe! I spent some time growing up in Lake Tahoe, so ice skating has always had a special place as I learned to skate on a flooded meadow!

Well the Broadway show would definitely have to be a comedy for sure! I would imagine it as full of surprises at every turn! Hmmmm What fun! We will definitely have to manifest that! Hehehe!

I am currently working on one now... I think it's name is prosperity... that could change though? LOL! Maybe I will finish her tonight! Last night I did an elf, it was for my X's business! I continue to amaze myself at just how nice I can be!!!

Blessings and HUGS Sallyjane zartgirl

Oh yes! Broadway is so IT! It's perfect. And then, sometime today I flashed on your faeries, Zatgirl, on ice like Iice-Capade or follies. I decided to let it go then read your ice skating comments. Love it when that kind of thing happens.

Pamela, I am so pleased my words could affect you so nicely as well. It's a lovely cycle, yes? Universe feeds your passion. Your passion feeds your art. Your art feeds those who experience it. Their experience renews you.

I'm a metalsmith artist and I too spend many long hours alone in the studio. It feels so good, so "yes!" - until uncertainty and distance from the outside world starts to get chafy and the itch of doubt starts to seep in and gnaw. (oops, mixing metaphors there). If you ever figure out the balance, let me know.

with great appreciation,
Bobi

The Balance

Hmmmm... The Balance! It is hard to find balance when you are passionate about your work!!! For me, my kids bring me back to earth per say... Although, my kids love my art, and that special place where I go to create, Nat my 8 year old often gives each work its name, and Iza is my critique! She is awesome at seeing things... She swears she can not draw, but she has the eye for it, so I know she will to someday create like I do. She does however paint with words far beyond her years! Maybe having my kids involved in my work and loving the process is why I can stay in that place and not miss the outside world! Although I always loved that place even as a kid!

Now a days that place is filled with fanciful characters that tell awesome stories of another paradigm, which makes it even more fun to go there! I find myself there even when I am not in my workspace! hehehe

I don't know how to find that balance either! For most people their work is such a drudgery, that they do anything to get a way from it, but for the artist it is a passion and a joy we don't want to leave that special place! I find when I am in that place, my mind shuts down and the NOW is so ever present, so maybe the rest of the world needs to find their way to where we are? Theres a thought for you! Maybe balance is learning to be in that place all the time and letting the world into that place where we are? I don't know just free floating thoughties! LOL!

Oh yes what fun, my faeries on Ice! Now that would be fun!

Blessings Sj zartgirl

Inspired again...

Hi My Sweetest Ones...

The past year has been a delicious journey into a new land of acrylic painting...something which I had not done for years and I found it most rewarding in many, many ways. But the path of an artist takes many twists and turns and now...a year later, I have found myself greatly missing the luminosity of my beloved watercolors as well as the act of painting them. So...After delivering the small collection of the acrylics that I have posted on this thread to be exhibited at a gallery here in Connecticut, I came home and dusted out my studio and pulled out my watercolors with a delightful new inspiration for a new collection. I was re-reading Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" and the first chapter, entitled "The Flowering of Human Consciousness" resonated with me at such a deep level and caused me to dream and become inspired...

Here is just one beautiful passage that caused me to sigh...

"Seeing beauty in a flower could awaken humans, however briefly, to the beauty that is an essential part of their innermost being, their true nature. The first recognition of beauty was one of the most significant events in the evolution of human consciousness. The feelings of joy and love are intrinsically connected to that recognition. Without our fully realizing it, flowers would become for us an expression in form of that which is most high, most sacred, and ultimately formless within ourselves. Flowers, more fleeting, more ethereal, and more delicate than the plants out of which they emerged, would become like messangers from another realm, like a bridge between the world of physical forms and the formless."

And further..."In the case of a flower... even someone with little or no Presence can occasionally sense that there is more there than the mere physical existance of that form, without knowing that this is the reason why he or she is drawn to it, feels an affinity with it."

While I have been painting flowers for a very long time, I now have a desire to go deeply within the flower...to capture the somewhat abstract, yet healing essence of the beauty that is found when we are very present as we contemplate these delicate and fragrant gifts.... And, perhaps allow for those who look to my work, a "window into the formless".

Here is the first of this collection. "Awakening" 24x18 Watercolor on Paper

With Much Love and Gratitude,

Pamela

An Inspiration in Seeing Source

Dear Pamela, Words can not express the inspiration I am feeling in the core of my being when I look into the essence of this piece.
Truly you have touched the heart of essence in this newest, most beautiful painting.
The depth and radiance coming from this abstract flower is truly profound.
Thank you for sharing this piece of yourself so freely with all of us.

Love, Light, Gratitude & Joy,
Maggie
