I am a great believe in the power of Reiki, especially after hearing a lecture by Dr David Hamilton not so long ago that explained a lot about how NASA tested the hands, and how the energy increased vastly etc.

I want to learn, and have been told it is the best way for me to go forwards right now. However, I have no idea how much it costs. I'd love some advice please!

A lady offered to help teach me, a one day course for Reiki 1 and I could go anytime. It costs £100 though per level (there's two). It is situated a good 6 hrs from me, so would cost about £50 fuel. I would need to stay overnight and the cheapest hotel is £50 a night. So that is £200 per reiki level so it would cost me £400 to learn which I don't have right now

I am so eager to learn, especially to help myself, family and my plants and animals I have some sickly plants and I would love to boost them. I've potted them up but they are still yellow and wilting David hamilton said a friend of his uses it on her plants and they grow like a jungle!

Since then, a man on a reiki forum told me he could teach me for free via remote. He said to wear loose clothing, to get comfy and he'd give me my auttunement and send me a £60 page manual, all I had to do was pay postage. I was over the moon! Unforunately, he is not around now he disappeared before we could do it. I'm starting to wonder if I'm meant to do it lol!

So, I'd really like to know, was it possible to learn over the net or was he teasing me, and is it better to learn face to face. And how much does it generally cost. I have no idea how much it is.

Hi Sharyn,
I am a Reiki Master and am able to teach and do attunements. Reading your post has given me the idea of perhaps preparing an on -line session for those in our group who would be interested - but I would need some time to develop it. We can do remote attunements - but I would insist some work be done prior to any attunement.
When I took part 1 - I really found spending time to do the 21 day cleansings were a wonderful way to open myself to receive the Universal Life Force Energy of Reiki.

There is so much on the web, but I believe you need to have a connection to your teacher - so if you feel I could be of service, let me know and I can begin preparing a series of lessons prior to attunement.

I'm not sure if you're replying to me or S.J ( is S.J a Sharyn too?). I would love to learn reiki online if you can find the time. I'm more than willing to put in some effort doing cleansings etc. I've tried working a little bit with my chakras but I need more practise.

The first time I tried clearing my chakras I had bad nightmares for the next two nights which I have never had before. So I sort of associate the two events together & it made me a bit reluctant to keep practising.

I've watched a few videos of reiki sessions being carried out on people but I have never attended a class myself so that is the sum extent of my knowledge in this area.

Thank you very much for you offer - hope that there are enough people interested in learning to make it viable.

I am eager to see who may be interested and have been thinking about the lessons all evening.
I truly have found Reiki to be a blessing and so intuititive. We draw the energy we are comfortable with and there is no fear or reluctance.

Gosh Moxie, I would dearly love to learn. So it is possible to learn remotely! How wonderful. I agree there is a lot on the web, but I would prefer to learn with a teacher like you suggested. That way I know I am doing it "right". I did not expect this, it has made me happy that someone has suggested a group and that there are others who also want to learn.

As for you question about the Chakras -that will all be part of the course I will prepare for the group - I will give you things to read and do and we will work through this together.

Moxie, I like that..."we will work through this together"! I have learned so much from this group already, and it doesn't seem to end!! The sharing and commitment. I wish I had more to offer...but I have no talents in the areas of healing, reiki, etc.

Hi - S.J, Sharyn, Lama, Jure, Tracy, Nadine,
I have spent most of today sitting on my deck enjoying the sunshine and preparing an overview for Reiki Part 1. It is my intention that this be a wonderful spiritual empowerment opportunity for each of you.
The overview should give you an idea of the content and expectations of our sessions together. I am also working on a manual which we can work through together each step of the way and am contemplating logistics for how this will all come together.
I am very excitied about this and if the planning is any indication of the experiences we will have - WOW, I can only imagine!!!
I will be asking each of you to spend some time in meditation and set your intention regarding these sessions.
When I first responded to S.J's post - I thought that seven would be a great number for the group - so there may still be someone out there who hasn't yet responded. Don't know why I picked seven - but when I look back over my Reiki career - I have been a Reiki Master now for seven years - and it is my favourite number.
I will post the overview tomorrow and then we can begin some conversation about what comes next.

I noticed that Skype has an area for conference calls
for up to a maximum of 9 people. I don't know much about it, but it may be worth looking into. Skype itself is free to download. It would be wonderful to be able to hear you & talk to each other on a call at the same time. Time zones might be a bit tricky to coordinate though!
