    Hello!

    Today I find some little time to do some exper. work.
    Nothing fancy I just connect my car coils which only work at 8khz,
    9kV. Need to get some output transformer, and better hv input.
    May be someone else is working with the same project??

      Zilano recommended a FB transformer TV-type to be operated in reverse as output transformer for first tests.

      What is better HV input? higher voltage, longer pulses, more current?
      The best results will be obtained with CDI design - see my recent posts regarding this matter.
      Another hint is that there are modern automotive coil designs whre the secondary is insulated from primary and as it needs to supply 2 spark plugs in series 8at same time, includign wated spark alternatevily for teh respective cylinder), it emits even higher voltage.
      Paul found some coils from FIAT Punto and others of the type referred above. These types will be offered in pairs. No idea if you get Fiat parts at your location.
      I plan to operate this type of coil (I bought two 12 each) along CDI design.
      I wonder if I can use the primaries in parallel and the secondaries in series in order to get more HV. I plan to pulse my HV caps severely in order to verifie if there is some magic apart all other effects reported.

      • I wonder if there is possible to get 2-3kV output from flyback on higher frequency like 100-200khz ? How it could be done ? How to avoid large current draw on primary side ? Maybe winding more turns on primary and using flyback like transformer ? You may ask why I wonder about this , but it's simple - I believe that would make spark silent and silent spark is what Kapanadze and SR913 presented to us What are your thoughts about it ?

          One wire electricity, of course, is possible. Peter Lindemann talks about a form of electricity called electrostatic compression waves which don't require a return path.

              No(12T) as shown on vidbid drawing see original drawing
              Center tap only on Output inverter Coil.

              2.5.1 Primary Winding L1
              Windings: 12+5 is wrong it is only 5T

                You can try the transformer out of a ccfl PSU. If it does not work with ferrite core, then get it out and try with smaller chunks of ferrite or without at all.

                      Excellent find John ! push-pull drivers for less than 8 bux you can buy anywhere. Here is a site that shows the schemo's for a number of CFL's

                            THAT COULD BE RIGHT. I USED A PROGRAM ON THE INTERNET THAT CALC'S VOLTAGE DIVIDER CURCUITS

                            &THAT IS WHAT I CAME UP WITH . IT COULD NEED ADJUSTMENT. THE VOLTAGE I GET IS NOT WHAT

                            I WAS TRYING FOR. YES 1 WIRE BULB IS CORRECT. THE BULB WOULD NOT LIGHT WITHOUT EARTH GROUND.

                            MAY NEED SOME EXPERIMENTING WITH THE RESISTORS ETC. AND I THINK THE FREQUENCY IS OFF. BUT IT

                            LIGHTS A 30W FLOURESANT LAMP SO I WANTED OTHERS TO SEE IT ANS DO SOME EXPERIMENTING WITH IT

                              The iginition coil left bottom in the pic is one with secondary completely separated from primary (2 HV connecors). It should give better HV than the cylindrical one. I guess factor 1.5.
                              Reason:
                              - HV is isolated from GND
                              - each HV terminal is connected to a spark plug each
                              - both spark plugs connect to engine mass being separated from HV coil
                              - so the HV needs to overcome two SG: one SG under pressure (voltage as usual) and one SG without pressure (lower voltage) (wasted spark)


                              @all: Proposal for simple HV peak detector in order to measure the voltage of HV sources. Choose C between 100pF and 1nF and voltage above the maximum expected (i.e. 20KV better 30KV, i.e. home brew (polyester 7 al foil)). Choose diodes conforming expected voltage.

                              Procedure:
                              1. discharge cap before each measurment
                              2. apply HV for several seconds
                              3. connect the meter while HV source active in order to probe the cap voltage
