  • Audio Step Up Transformer

I was wondering if anyone thought it ok to step up audio using an ignition coil. I was going to record some audio signals for onto a CD pass the signal through and audio amp and then put it through ignition coil to step the voltage up to around 2-4kv. It seemed a reasonable way of applying complex signal as hv to the Meyer cell or anything else requiring a complex wave form. I was also going to try and reproduce electrophonic phenomenon. How many turns tend to be in the primary and secondary of such a coil or does it change all the time.

Over on the Meissner thread, the fourth patent shows a circuit for doing what you're talking about.
