    Turion,

You laugh, but out of coincidence just a few weeks after I mentioned it, I see a senior, well respected member, @smudge, on OU.com and OUR.com also mention it. In this article second to last paragraph. Not sure I've ever seen the term used on these forums before.

BTW, it may be of interest to some, smudge's paper deals with finding a reality based support for an 'all' PM motor to self rotate. I don't believe it's possible, but admire his approach. There are things he alludes to which are beyond my comprehension. Notice he doesn't claim success but develops theory and invites scrutiny and experimentation.

    Laugh on,
    bi

Give the guy a little breathing room while we all watch the deep state hang by the neck. We interupt your normal programming to bring you a special message. Keep your bugout bag in hand if you live in large metro areas, power outages could be coming. CA, NYC and many more DC God only knows. Dave has already spoken about his parts list. Then when each piece is taken into inventory the task of implementing starts. Inventing and master mechanics are quite different.

Your position is to beg for a worm like a helpless baby bird still in the nest. Really you need to get off the tit.

Buy some paper clips and a ball of wire and get started today.

          • Waiting for parts to run the generator. This one has a different size shaft than previous version to make it stronger. I do not have hubs for that size shaft or for the MY1020 razor scooter motor, as I have always connected the motor directly to the generator shaft, and this time I am using a belt drive system for a smaller footprint. Almost exactly the same as the one my friend showed in his video, except I think his MIGHT have been a chain drive at the time he took that video. He is converting it over to belt drive also.

I have a sleeve that will fit on ONE of the MY1020 motors that I turned the shaft down on manually by using a file and running it, but still lack the actual size hub that will fit on the unmodified motor and the one that will fit on the generator shaft. I am having another sleeve made for another MY1020 motor, and it will be ready next weekend. I still await the 3/4 hub to fit the generator shaft. When it magically appears, I will be ready to move forward. But not until then. I'm in no rush. I have plenty of other projects to work on right now.

                • I bought several hubs and two pulleys. I intend to buy a couple more pulleys and some different sized belts and use this system for running anything I need to run with motors. Buying different sized pulleys will give me varying gear ratios, and the different hubs will allow me to use motors with different sized shafts. It's a bit of an investment, but I am adapting a motor to run on an electric go-cart, so I am looking at different options.

                        • completely understand what's going on Mikey - its about to get real... I have found a way to run a 3 battery " like" system without discharging 2 of the 3 and only using a small amount of energy from the 3rd. When the smoke clears I may start posting more. I stopped sharing anything because of the "guest" counts and I know who is part of the guests.

                          • bro,
The pulley I am using takes the place of the "ring" you show, and serves the same purpose. As you tighten it to the hub with the bolts, it compresses the hub onto the shaft. That's why I showed the pulleys FIRST. I'm not missing any "pieces" in what I have shown.

Good that you have a project, as soon as you value it and you can share it, it would be good to carry out tests or prototype your research, thanks for informing
