  • Hummingbird Humor/Synchronicity?

I had a fun thing happen this morning.

Yesterday I put out a hummingbird feeder but had not seen any hummingbirds around it since putting it up. I knew there were some in the area, though.

This morning I sat down at the kitchen table and looked at it and said to my son, "I guess the hummingbirds don't like my feeder." Not 10 seconds later, 3 hummingbirds buzz the feeder! Two of them were fighting/playing together and a third would come in when they took off.

I laughed and laughed - at myself and the hummers! It was a great way for the Universe to let me know that it - and the hummingbirds - were listening to me! And it was a lovely way to start my day.

    I love hummingbirds!

I've never seen any here by Edson in Alberta, Canada.
I think it's a tad too cold here for them.

We did put out a hummingbird feeder a couple of years ago
and the only "bird" we had visiting it was the local squirrel, lol!
But now you've inspired me to clean it and put it up again and fill
it with the sweet nectar that the hummingbirds love.

    Love!

      Hi Ulrika!

I just did a search for 'hummingbirds canada' and found this site -

Hummingbirds - Spring arrivals of returning hummingbirds to U.S. and Canada
Scroll to the bottom of the page for the Canada listings.

I didn't see Alberta specifically mentioned, but you may be near some of the other locations that are already reporting sightings. It may at least give you an idea of when you can expect them.

Hope this helps and hope you have lots of hummers soon!

        Hi Ann,

What a thoughtful thing to look that up for me! Thank you

I did see some last year about an hour and a half west of here near the town of Jasper, Alberta. They were yellow, green and red. Will have to go back there to see them again. They're just a JOY to watch!!

You're welcome, Ulrika! I was happy to do it.

Just put your feeder up and they will come.
