What the ...???

How come my profanity on my own blog is censored? I'm a rather profane person in real life, it seems weird to see all my ****s and ****s come out in asterisks. (See what I mean?) I've never had this experience with any of my other blog and forums before.

Hi Rin

I am not completely sure about this, but a few weeks ago I was asked to look after a friends message board as she was without Internet. She asked me to put a password on it, and when I did I saw a note that the forum did not allow certain words, so would automatically 'delete' them. Maybe this board is set up in the same way?

Oh well, perhaps it's just as well. I guess I'll have to be a bit more creative with my rude words then .... broaden my horizons, so to speak!

I found this in the FAQ section:

Why have some of the words in my post been blankedCertain words may have been censored by the administrator. If your posts contain any censored words, they will be blanked-out like this: *****.
The same words are censored for all users, and censoring is done by a computer simply searching and replacing words. It is in no way 'intelligent'.

Rin, I discovered that for myself as well. I sent a PM to Pamela Sweda (a good friend of mine) and used some choice words while describing a situation and found they were *****ed

I have always felt that expressing oneself is powerful!! No matter what words you use!! Words are meaningless in and of themselves, yes they do have a certain amount of vibration with the particular letters, but it is more the intention behind the words that matter than the word itself!! So in my opinion saying to someone to "Go **** yourself" is all about the intention!
