Something happens when you start working on your device, based on your own ideas and the modified idea of others. It's like it becomes your child, and you become protective over it.

It's a very strange thing. Maybe this is why so many inventors in the alternative energy field are so secretive.

When we are trying to discover what they are doing, we can be very analytical, but when it's our own device, we clam up.

Why is that? Do we take that much ownership of it?

That it becomes a part of us?

I think that it is it.
We pour so much of ...ourselves ...time...money...knowledge into our project that we become our projects and our projects become us. And like all things in life until we become more familiar and comfortable with others we are reluctant to share more.
Thats why I think forums like this help us to know each other more and as a result begin to open up a little at a time about our ideas. That also helps us by having our ideas critiqued and by getting constructive critisism.
The only way we could get to know each other better is to have a big party and invite everyone on the site, and although we may actually have enough home made wine in the basement we dont have enough spare bedrooms so this is the next best thing.
That is my humble opinion.
