View Full Version : Manifestation of My Biggest Dream ...

02-26-2009, 05:21 PM
Hi Everyone :)

An opportunity has come up, to get me the closest I could imagine, to my Biggest dream :suprise: - working in film and television in L.A.

I was accepted for an introduction to Hollywood package, which includes not only auditioning for 15 top Hollywood agents, but also all the prepartion and support that can enable me to make the most of the opportunity!

It's practically impossible to even meet the top agents in Hollywood, never mind audition for 15 of them! (these are agents who have placed people in: 24, Heroes, Friends, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Mission Impossible, High School Musical, ER, CSI Miami, Spin City, Angel, That 70s Show, Ugly Betty, Something's Gotta Give, Entourage, Iron Man, Grey's Anatomy, My Name is Earl, Casino, Sister Act, CSI NY, Just Shoot Me etc.)

It's a 10 day trip to L.A. and includes a choice of monologues for the auditions; a two day master class at the Stella Adler Accademy of Acting (one of the most famous and well respected acting schools) to perfect the audition monologues; a make-over with a top Hollywood stylist and image consultant; a photo session (and 100 prints) with a top Hollywood Celebrity photographer (Alan Weisman: ALAN WEISSMAN PHOTOGRAPHY (http://www.alanweissman.com/index.html) ) at his Beverly Hills Studio; a consultation with an acredited imigration lawyer; help with a standard Hollywood resume; follow up career advice; and a possible offer of management... and other bits like sight seeing, limo service to and from the airport, networking etc. and staying in a studio suite in the Marriott Residence Inn, Burbank:

Residence Inn Burbank Downtown: Spacious suites and amenities for longer stays (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/burri-residence-inn-burbank-downtown)

After checking out the company, all the people involved and actors who have already done the trip (some of whom now have agents in Hollywood) we're satisfied that it's a Brilliant opportunity. Everyone who has spoken about going on the trip has raved about it, and said it exceeded their expectations!

It's an opportunity I never knew existed! It costs a lot of money (well, it's not a lot for what it is - the opportunity is priceless - but it's a lot to get together if you don't have it ;) ). However... I have now manifested the money as well!!! I've just booked my flights and will be making the payment to the company this evening!! I wanted to wait until it was all confirmed before posting about it... and now it is confirmed!!! I'm SO SO excited!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I'm now busy choosing monologues, and will need to learn and prepare three. I must also polish up my American accent lol. I want to make the very most of the opportunity so that I have the best shot at my dream!

So, I fly to L.A. on the 21st March, and arrive back in the UK on the 31st March.

And I attribute this Incredible and Magical Manifestation mostly to the PATHS Trauma Release module (http://www.paths-quantumenergy.com/products_show/89/TraumaFree.html)!!! It has cleared limitting, self sabotage patterns and programming, so that I am now finally ALLOWING my dreams to come in!

The other modules I'm on that I think have contributed to this are Self Esteem; Synchronicity and Mindset for Money - but I think the Trauma Release one has been key in boosting the effects of those.

So, I now have three weeks to get into shape - I'd better get onto that trampoline now!

Hello Everyone :D

I'm back in the UK, and had the most MAGICAL time in LA!! :yahoo: :grindaisy: :yahoo:

The trip was everything it promised to be - and more.
I should hear within the next couple of weeks if I have a callback for any of the agents - but even if I don't, the experience (and the headshots!) that I've brought back with me is invaluable, and I know it's going to contribute to my career here anyway.

I'll write more detail later - I'm verrrrrrrrry sleeeeeeeeeeepy - a touch of jetlag I think. So, taking it easy for the first couple of days, and will write more later.

Looking forward to hearing about the trip!

Hello Again Everyone :D

Well, the trip was really Brilliant.

I'm going to try and post photos as well....

I arrived on the Saturday afternoon, and after checking into my hotel (which was fabulous!), I went for a walk through downtown Burbank - which is really lovely. I so love being in America! :hearts: :heartbeat: I feel so at home there.

I had met T.J. - who runs the company (TJ Rizing Productions) that afternoon, and he was so warm and friendly - really lovely. That evening I met the other four actors who were on the same package as me - and they were all lovely and friendly as well.

On Sunday, we had a FABulous camera-acting class at the Stella Adler Actors Studio, with Ron Burrus (who worked personally with Stella Adler, and who still coaches A-List actors for specific roles when required). It was a really enlightening and enjoyable experience.

The Stella Adler Studio is on Hollywood Boulevard, on the "walk of fame" with Stella Adler's star just outside the entrance.

On Monday, we had the make-over and image consultancy with a wonderful consultant, Judy, who was also incredibly warm and friendly. We were all very happy with our make-up, and T.J. took us all for lunch at a lovely Italian bistro.

Tuesday, we had the photo shoot for our headshots, at Alan Weissman's Beverly Hills house/studio. Alan and his assistants, Caroline and Carlos, were all incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. For "Dog Whisperer" fans... Alan's dog, Lafitte, was once a member of Cesar Milan's pack! Lafitte used to belong to Nicholas Cage, but when he called Cesar to come in and help him with his guard dogs, Alan says that Cesar agreed to help, on condition Nicholas gave Lafitte to him because he felt he didn't belong with all the guard dogs (he's a big soft beige poodle with a very sweet nature). And so, Lafitte lived with Cesar for two or three years (and appears on "The Dog Whisperer", as well as on the cover of one of his books). Alan, a friend of Cesar's (and has taken many of the photos for his website and books), wanted a dog, and Cesar matched him with Lafitte. Lafitte is now a very happy and loved pooch, with lots of attention.

The shoot went well, and we were all very happy with our headshots.

Wednesday we went to Universal Studios, which was Great fun! My favourite ride: The Simpsons! Really Impressive! :suprise: I also loved the Jurrasic Park one! :yahoo: The Universal Studios Tour was excellent too. There wasn't enough time to do everything I'd like to have done - missed The Mummy ride for example - I'll have to go back with my son and partner some time!

Wednesday evening, T.J. took us all out for a Fabulous dinner at a lovely chinese restaurant in Burbank, P.F. Changs China Bistro. The food was Delicious, and we had a great evening. Earl, who is T.J.'s business partner, based in the UK, joined us - and he was lovely to chat with.

Thursday we filmed our monologues. The director/camera-man, Miguelle, was great to work with, and although it was a very long day, I enjoyed it very much.

On Friday we had another class at the Stella Adler Studio, this time with May Quigley Goodman, who was also lovely to work with. After that, a representative from one of the top agencies in Hollywood, came to talk to us about working in LA. It was a Fabulous opportunity to hear from the agent's point of view, and to gain information that we'd normally not have access to.
Following that, was a consultation with an Immigration Lawyer, who gave us information on work visas etc.

A lot to take in that day, but really valuable.

Saturday was the day of the auditions. By Saturday there were 19 of us (the others hadn't come for the full 10 days. Some had arrived on the Wednesday, and a few had come just for the auditions on the Saturday). We did three sessions of auditions. Five agents in each of the first two sessions, and 6 in the last one. One of the most valuable parts of the experience was: for each session, after we'd each done our monologue, we all went back into the room, and were able to ask the agents questions. We got a lot of feedback (not on our auditions - they don't do that ;) ) - on working in the industry in LA, and a lot of information from the agent's point of view. These were top agents for T.V. series, Film and Commercials, so it was really an incredible opportunity.

Sunday was free day, and in the evening I met up with a friend of my brother's, who has lived in LA for the last 14 years. He's a writer, director and producer, and a really lovely guy. He took me up to the Observatory, which was absolutely Amazing - the view of LA was Exquisite, and I couldn't believe just how big it is! We then went to Los Feliz, which he told me was "Old Hollywood". He used to live there (he now lives on the coast), and so he was able to tell me the history of some of the little coffee bars, restaurants and bistros, which was really interesting and fun. We had dinner at a lovely place - but I forgot to take note of the name of it! They had some live music, and we had some really interesting and inspiring conversation - not only about the industry, but also about the LOA. He knows Michael Beckworth! (from The Secret), along with several others, and has had the most remarkable experiences. A really Fabulous person!

Monday it was time to come home.

What a Brilliant manifestation! It really is the most impressive experience I've consciously manifested!

Now to catch up on all the new posts here. ;)

Hope all is Magical with all of you.

Nice post to reduce pic size download microsofts photo resizer:thumbsup:

Thanks Wpage :) I'm having a bit of a challenge with the image resizer - I downloaded it yesterday, and it said it had the installation was complete. But when I go to it in the program files, the only option is "Read me" - there's no way of opening the actual program. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times yesterday, but still got the same thing. So I'll have another go later, but if anyone has any other ideas in the meantime, it would be much appreciated.

Hi Pamela :)

I'm waiting to receive the headshots file (which will be emailed to me in the next week or two), and as soon as I receive that, I'll post the main pic here. I have prints, and tried scanning one in, but the colours are different to what they are in the print, so I'll wait for the original file.

The auditions went great. Most of us prepared three monologues to choose from (we only did one in the auditions, but had another as a backup in case they asked to see a second one).

I had one from Dangerous Liaisons (from the Glenn Close role), which I did with a straight English accent; a scene from "Contact" (Jody Foster role) with an American accent; and one from "The Adams Family Values" (Joan Cusack role) also with an American accent. TJ had said that we shouldn't use an American accent unless it was spot-on. He said if it wasn't perfect, it was better to use our own accent. I was planning to do the Dangerous Liaisons one as my main one, with "Contact" as the back-up because I hoped my American accent was good enough.

When we went through our monologues in the Stella Adler class, TJ and May told each person which monologue they should do as their main one, and which one as the backup. They suggested I do "Contact" as my main one, and "Dangerous Liaisons" as my second - which I assume means, my American accent is good enough - which was great. :D

None of us was asked to do our second one in any of the sessions, so it was just "Contact" I did. I was happy with the way I did it for the first two sessions. The third one, I didn't feel I did it as well. But that was the great thing about getting the opportunity to do it more than once of course. ;)

The agents were very friendly - especially the ones in the first session. And it was really great being able to ask them questions afterwards.

The next step is a call-back. If you fit into the type they're currently looking for, then they ask to see you again. I haven't heard yet, but they said it can take up to two weeks to hear if you have a call-back. If I do get a call-back, it will mean the agent would like to meet me for a chat and possibly another audition for their collegues, the next time I'm in LA. So then it will be a case of manifesting the airfare for another trip ;) but there's no time limit - so just whenever I can get there, I can then make an appointment with them. And then it will be a case of seeing if it's a good match from both points of view, and if so, I will have an agent in LA. Then I will perhaps go over for a couple of months at a time to audition for roles, and if I get cast, will take it from there. In the meantime, I will start the process for work visa etc.

But, even if I don't get a call-back this time, I got so much out of the trip. And the new headshot, I'm certain, will increase my chances of getting more auditions here in the meantime. And I will still then aim to go back to LA at a later date.

Hope all's Wonderful with you Sweet Friend. And I hope that when I do get back over to your side of the world, we'll be able to make a plan to meet up again. :grindaisy:

I have found the easiest way to post pics is to get sign up for a free account at Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) and then you upload your pics there.

Once they are on photobucket you use the link they provide and post them where ever you want...in any forum, in an email, etc.

You don't have to worry about resizing them...photobucket does it automatically for you when you upload them.

What an exciting TRIP!!!!
