Amianto: da rifiuto tossico a risorsa utile con il siero di latte - Corriere.it

" Asbestos: from toxic waste to useful resource with whey
The solution devised by the University of Bologna to render harmless the Eternit: associate in a chemical reaction to whey
    Alessandra Battistel
Pending the entry into force of EU law, which requires by 2020 to replace the landfills, France to denature asbestos fibers using plasma lamp, effective but expensive (900 € / Ton). A significantly lower prices (140 € / Ton), in Italy asbestos is packaged and disposed of in landfills, quarries exhausted coated polymers. Choice that involves high criticality. In landfills bales of asbestos are pressed to be better sunken. Dangerous practice because it shatters asbestos inside the packs, making it volatile and therefore carcinogenic when, between 20-30 years, the plastic wrap inevitably will sell and the fibers will become free polluting aquifers.
It would be worthwhile to investigate a solution all Italian invented in Bologna, by the team of Professor Norberto Roveri University, Department of Chemistry. This is a chemical reaction that can render harmless the Eternit associating it with industrial waste from dairies. From the reaction of the two toxic substances, you may obtain useful and marketable products, fertilizers all'idropittura.

What is the matter? What's missing? Verification and evaluation of the Ministry of the Environment, to which Professor Roveri is asking audience for some years, but so far to evaluate this project there was never time. Yet every territory would have its own processing plant Eternit. Let's just hope they do not pass years of bureaucratic rebounds to verify the validity or otherwise of the process, because in the meantime mesothelioma continues to claim victims.

Cleaning up the planet is so necessary I like this video from the Health Revolution series about Japan's use of Prof. Teruo Higa's EM, an amazing system where you can grow EM - Effective micro-organisms yourself at home. Note the interview starts after about 7 and a half minutes in after Clive's introduction.
