I have thought about trying this before,
played with them quite a bit,
how did you get the temp. stable enough not to melt the plastic entirely while still getting the wanted effect ?

Here are a bunch of electret related pdfs I've collected. On my google drive.

a useful differential electroscope built by vk2zay (schematic in video.)
Knowing the polarity is useful in understanding and applying electrets.

Some of the first known electrets were made from carnuba wax.
The material is conditioned with high voltage when the material is liquid
the energy is thought to be stored in polar fields.
These polar domains or clusters hold a charge and are distributed
in the dielectric wax while electric field applied maintain the alignment
of the charge clusters as it cools and solidifies.

Unlike a leyden jar an electret can store and emit static electricity
slowly over a few days. Also some electrets covered in foil have
been known to retain complete charge for 15 years.

Charge clusters are believed to enhance the biology and health of
living organism. There are certain frequencies whose harmonics
are closely related to stimulating life rejuvinating mechanism of DNA in cells.
Resonating body in order to resonate the cells not a single frequency.
The precise harmonic series have been past down by Buddhist monks.
The healing with natural materials had weak fields compared to these electrets.
The health benefit is attributed to a cleansing diet, sound, minerals and the energy field.
