Even if you are applying the LOA techniques to something general if you don't know the specific, your subconscious mind absolutely does have access to the optimum path for you.

The "fields" are basically like file cabinets of different topics with drawers that are broken down into more specific categories within categories and so forth. Those could be considered the "morphic fields" that Rupert Sheldrake talks about.

So, yes, you are automatically always connected to these fields.

However, you mention, "Just thankful and knowing that my perfect job is ahead." I would put myself in an emotional position of feeling that you currently have the perfect job right now instead of knowing it is ahead.
