It is great to see you back and posting again. Sounds like you have been very busy with life and doing a lot of reading. There are many, many books on Chakras. I have not read the one you are referring to, but I have read many others.
There certainly are many more chakras than the seven in our physical body -but for the purpose of our Reiki clearing we are concentrating on the seven main chakras. We can talk about other levels more on the PI forum in our Reiki thread.

As for chakra clearing - we are always going through layers of clearing but once you have been attuned the Reiki energy takes you through a 21 day cleansing of the chakras. All of this info is described in our lessons.
