Yahoo is one of a handful of large companies who has begun to step up some positive programs using the power of the Internet.

I saw this one this morning: Climate Change : Yahoo! Green.

They have also been advertising a worldwide virtual hug (already completed) and profiling a religious series by Kirk Cameron.

My feeling is there seem to be some strong ties to the socio-political 'right' here, but nevertheless, it is nice to see a very visible attempt by Yahoo to use its clout to assert some proactive programs.

It would be interesting to monitor how many other companies/agencies begin to promote such programs as Yahoo, and which methods they use to promote them.
