Gray Motor Update, May 1, 2007
To all,
In the summer of 2001, it looked like a group of people was gathering to reconstruct the Ed Gray motors. So, what happened?
The answer is more the story of what did NOT happen. First of all, no one every funded the project. Within a year, Norm Wootan sold the two Ed Gray motors to Al Francoeur in Canada. Al has been slowly and painstakingly restoring the motor chassis and coil/core assemblies. He is paying for all of this out of his own pocket, so the work proceeds as funds are available. He is also starting to work on reconstructing the complex power supply units that drive the system. Since no exact circuit schematics have ever surfaced, the rebuilding of the power supply units will still require some R&D. Time frame for completion is unknown.
Beyond this, I do not have any other information.
I hope this helps,
Peter
