Revisiting this topic with a 'buyer beware'
After many long months waiting to be able to afford a Portable FIR Sauna, I ordered one on eBay that looked very similar to the one I linked to above. It arrived today and it was a BIG disappointment. I sat in it for 40 minutes at its highest 'power level' - '5' and it was barely warming me and certainly did not make me sweat. Fortunately for me, the seller is going to refund my money.
It is my understanding from Aaron's explanation and other reading I've done on the internet that FIR heat is like the heat of the sun. If I had spent 40 minutes in the sun I would have been sweating like a pig after just a couple of minutes. Didn't even come close in this sauna.
This experience has lead me to suspect that most of the 'portable' FIR saunas that are for sale in various places on the internet are not really FIR saunas. It seems to me that a true FIR sauna would not require a warm up time, but I could be wrong about that.
I'm going to do more research before purchasing another and I may have to wait till I can afford one of the wooden ones.
Just wanted to share my experience in case it might be helpful to anyone.
